Understanding DNS spoofing

Understanding DNS spoofing
DNS Spoofing is one method of hacking Man In The Middle Attack (MITM). Almost the same concept with ARP spoofing, but the difference is that the attacker would falsify the IP address of a domain.

DNS is the Domain Name Server, the server that is used to determine the IP address of a host through its host name. In the world of internet, computers communicate with each other to identify its IP address. But for humans is not possible to memorize the IP address, humans more easily memorized words like www.yahoo.com, www.google.com, or www.facebook.com. DNS is used to convert the name to be read by humans into the numerical IP addresshost contacted.

So when the target of a request to a domain address with the IP address A, with DNS spoofing, the gateway of the user request will be forwarded to a fake IP address of the attacker.
